Daytime Traffic Restrictions Imposed on Kohima-Jessami Road

Kohima: Kiphire Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer has announced a temporary ban on all vehicular traffic along a segment of the Kohima-Jessami Road. The restriction covers the area between Losatephe and Lanehzo villages, specifically spanning Chainage 101+060 to Chainage 101+161.

This measure is effective from June 10 through June 14. Drivers should note that the road will be closed daily between 6 am and 6 pm to allow for ongoing excavation tasks under Package-V of the infrastructure project. Officials stated that the move serves as a "precautionary step to ensure the safety of the general public during the excavation works."

Commuters traveling in the region must utilize an alternate route to avoid the construction zone. The suggested detour runs through Pfutsero, Porba, Sakraba, Khomi, and Phek Village to reach Lanehzo.
