Conrad Sangma Pushes Forward on Shillong Four-Lane Road Projects

Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma says the four-lane road projects connecting Rilbong to Barik and Umiam to Shillong are moving forward. State officials are pushing to finish these road upgrades quickly. The plans are now mostly set following talks with the Army and other agencies.

"We have more or less come to a conclusion. Once the Army reviews the plan and confirms the minutes, we will move ahead," Sangma said. The Umiam to Shillong route will combine new greenfield construction with improvements to existing roads.

Final details on the alignments are currently in the works. Sangma plans to head to New Delhi in July. He will meet with federal officials to hammer out the remaining issues for these projects.
