Confederation of Ri Bhoi People Revitalizes Western Zone Leadership

Shillong: The Confederation of Ri Bhoi People (CoRP) officially reconstituted its Western Zone on Saturday, appointing a new slate of leaders for the 2026-2029 term. The move aims to restore activity in the region after the branch remained dormant for several years.

An installation ceremony took place at the Patharkhmah Dorbar Hall to mark the transition. CoRP president Pateng Myrsing administered the oath of office to the incoming team. Attendees included senior CoRP officials, representatives from Hima Jirang, and leaders from the HNYF Western Zone.

Sumar Lyngdoh will serve as president of the newly formed executive, with Runningwel Syngkli taking the role of general secretary. The leadership team also includes vice president Woster Thangkhiew and organising secretary Prison Makri.
