Agartala: Opposition leader Jitendra Chaudhury blasted state and central authorities in Agartala on July 3. He accused them of neglecting the unemployed and dodging democratic accountability. The protest near the Circuit House, organized by the Tribal Youth Federation, highlighted a seven-point list of demands.

Chaudhury claimed 50,000 to 60,000 government jobs sit empty across Tripura. He pointed to official Assembly records to back his math. He urged the government to stop stalling and fill the posts immediately. "The ruling dispensation had failed to resolve long-pending recruitment issues and had not fulfilled its promises of generating employment," Chaudhury said.

The demonstrators also pushed for a probe into recruitment scams within the ADC administration. Language rights took center stage as well. Protesters demanded that Kokborok join the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. They want the language taught in every school, college, and university across the state.
