Kohima: Changtongya Town Baptist Church finished a three-day revival program on September 13. Hundreds of believers gathered to rededicate their lives. The event marked 50 years since a major revival movement started in the town in 1976. This movement remains a pillar of Nagaland religious history. It brought reports of miracles and conversions. Organizers picked the theme, "Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?" based on Psalms 85:6.
Dr. Chujang Aier, president of the International Evangelistic Fellowship, served as the main speaker. He worked with a team of counselors from various churches. Attendees shared stories about the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Asangla Luen also spoke. She is the daughter of former pastor Rev. M.I. Luen, a pioneer of the movement. She gave the church a memento honoring the early leaders.
Sashi Kichu, pastor of Mongsenyimti Compound Baptist Church, led a final devotional service. This preceded a healing session for the ill and weary. Prayer teams attended to locals and those watching the stream online. They sought what the church describes as the healing power of Christ. The church was among the first sites where the movement took hold five decades ago.
