NBCC Passes Revival Torch to Gorkha Baptist Youth in Nagaland

Kohima: The Association of Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland launched its 5th Biennial Youth Conference on Thursday at Millennium Hall in Daniel Village. More than 500 delegates representing 43 churches gathered for the three-day event. It runs through October 11.

The opening ceremony featured the Youth Department of Nepali Baptist Church, Walford. Nagaland Baptist Church Council General Secretary Rev Dr Mar Pongener addressed the crowd. He spoke on the intersection of faith in the modern world. He told the attendees to live lives built on Christian values. He cited Proverbs 3:5-6 during his talk.

The Nagaland Baptist Church Council officially handed over the Revival Torch to the association. Rev Dr K Santabir Rai accepted the gift. He pledged to advance the movement. He said, "Receiving the Revival Torch on behalf of the association, Rev Dr Rai expressed gratitude and pledged the association’s commitment to carrying forward the spiritual vision of the revival movement."

GBC Diphupar is leading praise and worship. Pastor Joseph Chettri of GBF Piphema serves as the camp director. Shekhar Tamang, the youth pastor of GBC Naginimora, chaired the session. GBC Mon Town and NBC Wokha provided music. Shishir Lama shared greetings to start the event.
