Imphal: Chandel Police hit the streets on Friday to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse. Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Tyagi led a bike rally from the District Sports Complex. More than 100 officers and locals joined the ride. They moved through Chandel Christian and Pallel on NH 102C before finishing at the district headquarters.

The events followed the global theme, "World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, and Innovative Responses." Police organized these rallies to spark action against drug trafficking.

Following the ride, teams held awareness meetings at the Town Hall in Panchai and the Chakpikarong Sub-Division. Officers worked alongside the Maha Area Chiefs Association and the Anal Naga Chiefs Association to reach nearly 200 attendees. These programs brought together village leaders, youth, and police to push for a drug-free society. Police stated these efforts highlight the importance of community work in preventing substance abuse.
