Kohima: Atoizu district officials caught government staff skipping work. The District Administration joined forces with the Atoizu Town Council and local student unions to conduct a massive inspection drive on August 24. They checked every major institution in the area. The inspectors found the Public Health Engineering Department and the Forest Department offices completely shuttered, despite sending out prior notice of the visit.
The inspection team visited a long list of sites: Khelhoshe Polytechnic, the PWD (R&B) offices, the Sub-Divisional Education Office, and the local police station. They also checked the Primary Health Centre, Sub-District Industries Centre, Government High School, and the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department. Power department facilities and the local Horticulture Farm also faced scrutiny.
The day wrapped up with a coordination and consultative meeting involving department heads and community stakeholders. Officials heard a litany of local complaints. They documented grievances and specific proposals, confirming that the "needs and requirements of various offices and institutions were apprised to the District Administration for appropriate consideration and necessary action."

The inspection squad was larger than first reported. Beyond the District Administration, Town Council, and student unions, the operation included the Gaon Buras, the Sumi Totomi Loka from both Atoizu and Asukhuto, and the Students Union of Asukhuto Town.
