Guwahati: Assamese feature film Rador Pakhi, also known as Morning Sunshine, grabbed the Jury Special Mention Super Mama Award in Moscow. The International Film Festival Made by Women hosted the event from July 8 to 12, 2026. The film competed against international entries in the Russian capital. Bobby Sarma Baruah directed the project. It draws inspiration from the life of writer Sarmistha Pritam.
The story follows Jyoti, an aspiring writer from Assam. She battles spinal muscular atrophy. She fights to live independently while chasing her dream of writing. Producers Basanta Kumar Baruah, Bobby Sarma Baruah, and Sulakhyana Baruah backed the film. Sulakhyana Baruah, Kamal Lochan, Arun Nath, and Bina Patangia star in the production.
Baruah thanked the team for their dedication. "This journey became even more meaningful as our film received the Jury Special Mention Super Mama Award. Receiving this recognition on an international platform is truly an honour and a proud moment for our entire team," she said. The film already boasts a long history of festival appearances.
It premiered at the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa in 2024. It later traveled to the 21st Third Eye Asian Film Festival, the 23rd Pune International Film Festival, and the 16th Bengaluru International Film Festival. Other stops included the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and Canada's Mosaic International Film Festival in 2025. The film also appeared at the 20th International Film Festival of Thrissur.
