Guwahati: Borluit Productions will drop its debut feature film Dipholu in theaters on October 9, 2026. The company broke the news Monday at the Gauhati Press Club. Massive flooding across Assam forced the crew to scrap the original August 21 launch. Now they have a new target.

Director Nekib and producer Jekiv helmed the project. It marks the studio’s first jump from short films to feature-length cinema. The plot tracks life in an Assamese village, blending humor with local culture and heavy social themes. The soundtrack is a major draw.

It features the romantic duet Xorogi Xopun, recorded in 2025 by Zubeen Garg and Gayatri Hazarika. The track dropped in June. Other musicians on the project include Rupali Kashyap, Rakesh Reeyan, and Montumoni Saikia. Nekib wrote the lyrics, while Jekiv handled music direction. Gargee Bhattacharjee also contributed lyrics to the score.

The cast features Amrita Gogoi, Subrat Deori, Arun Nath, Arun Hazarika, Purnada Hazarika, Rajib Dowari, Jotishman Bora, Kanika Nath, Anirban Kalita, Ankur Baidya, Hitesh Baruah, Simashree Bora, Priyanshi Kashyap, and Dibyapratim Bhagawati. Veteran actress Mridula Baruah signed on for a special role.

The team is currently ramping up the promotional push for the October release. They want a big turnout.
