Kohima: Assam Rifles is running a series of community outreach programs across Nagaland. The efforts target road safety, tuberculosis prevention, and child healthcare. At Chenmoho village, troops held a lecture on safe driving. They covered helmet use, seatbelts, and the dangers of speeding or distracted driving.
Local youth and village leaders turned out in force. The group discussed first aid and basic traffic rules. The villagers promised to follow the new safety guidelines.
In Kiphire, the military joined forces with the District Hospital to fight tuberculosis. They ran a program under the 100 Days TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Doctors explained how the disease spreads and why quick testing saves lives. Medical professionals emphasised that "timely detection and completion of prescribed treatment are vital to eliminating TB." Personnel from 39 Assam Rifles also got checked during the event.
The unit pushed into Jalukie for a different mission. They teamed up with the local Health Department to run a Pulse Polio Immunization drive. Workers vaccinated 61 children under the age of five. Parents supported the push to keep the nation polio free. Officials stated these events build community health and keep the public safe.
