Kohima: Assam Rifles recently launched several welfare and outreach programs across Nagaland aimed at improving public health, emotional wellness, and local infrastructure. These efforts reflect the unit's ongoing commitment to supporting the region as the Sentinels of the Northeast.

In Jalukie, Peren district, Dr. Vandini Setia led a mental health workshop titled Apne Jazbaaton ko Samjhana. Twenty-six military families participated in the session, which focused on using creativity and empathy to build resilience. During the same visit, officials partnered with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program to host a health lecture at Assam Rifles Public School. Experts taught students and staff about tuberculosis prevention and government treatment options, encouraging them to act as health ambassadors to reduce the social stigma surrounding the disease.

The unit also focused on practical community needs in Tuensang district. On May 26, soldiers delivered solar lights, a new water tank, and various shelter supplies to the community hall in Saksi village. This assistance provides critical infrastructure for approximately 3,800 local residents, better equipping the facility for village gatherings and public activities.
