Assam Rifles Boosts Nagaland Farming and Student Health

Kohima: Assam Rifles linked up with local agricultural experts to modernize farming in Peren. They teamed up with the Indian Veterinary Research Institute and Krishi Vigyan Kendra to host a Farmers-Scientists Interaction Programme. Ten scientists met with locals to talk through better ways to handle livestock and animal healthcare. The team handed out gear to boost productivity in the fields.

The force remains focused on remote areas. "Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to empowering rural communities and contributing to socio economic development in remote areas," officials stated. The event gave farmers a chance to ask questions and learn about new tech for their crops.

Over in Kohima, the focus shifted to campus health. Assam Rifles ran a blood testing drive at Mount Olive College on June 26, 2026. Students lined up for tests after the college asked for help. Knowing your blood type saves lives in an emergency. The medical team also taught classes on nutrition, hygiene, and the value of regular checkups. Teachers and students welcomed the help.
