Assam Police seize Rs 2.1 crore in illegal cough syrup

Guwahati: Cachar Police intercepted a truck carrying banned Codeine Phosphate syrup valued at approximately Rs 2.1 crore. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the seizure on May 23, noting that the operation followed reliable intelligence received by authorities.

One person is currently in custody in connection with the shipment. The arrest marks the latest development in the state's aggressive #AssamAgainstDrugs campaign, which aims to dismantle narcotics networks throughout the region through frequent raids and enforcement actions.
