Guwahati: Police in Assam's Nagaon district arrested two men in Rupahihat on June 12 after receiving intelligence that they were planning a robbery. Officers conducted a late-night raid at the 7 Star Luxury Hotel, where they took the suspects into custody before any crime could occur.

The individuals have been identified as Tashajul Haque and Rashidul Haque. During the operation, police seized a 7.65 mm pistol along with two rounds of live ammunition. Investigators suspect the men traveled to the hotel from their respective areas of Borguli and Aloni to finalize their plans.

Authorities are currently interrogating the pair to determine if they have been involved in past criminal activity or are affiliated with a wider organization. A police spokesperson stated, "Further investigation into the case is underway." The department continues to gather information as the inquiry progresses.
