Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma opened the Digital Design and 3D Printing Centre of Excellence at Tech City in Bongora on July 21. This facility brings rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing to the Northeast. It operates under the PM-DeVINE Scheme.
The center aims to push Industry 4.0 adoption throughout the region. It targets sectors including healthcare, aerospace, energy, and agriculture. Faster innovation remains the primary goal. Sarma stated, "The facility would enable faster innovation across sectors such as healthcare, aerospace, energy and agriculture."
Local businesses will benefit too. Small and medium enterprises can now build solutions inside the state instead of relying on outside imports. This change cuts down on dependency. The state expects this site to create more than 2,500 jobs. Officials believe this project acts as a powerful engine for new product development and regional growth.
