Guwahati: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has officially summoned the sixteenth Assam Legislative Assembly to convene for its upcoming budget session. According to an official notification released by the Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat, the proceedings are scheduled to begin at 9:30 am on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Assembly Chamber in Dispur.

The governor issued the formal order on June 10, utilizing powers granted under Article 174(1) of the Constitution of India. Secretary-in-Charge Rajib Bhattacharyya signed the official announcement, which confirmed the date and time for the assembly to gather.

The notification stated, "In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, I, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Governor of Assam, hereby summon the Budget Session of the Sixteenth Assam Legislative Assembly to meet at 9.30 A.M. on Monday, the 6th July, 2026 at the Assembly Chamber in Dispur."

Legislators are expected to review state financial proposals and discuss various government policies and legislative business during the session.
