Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Joins 11th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma participated in the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog held in New Delhi. The session was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and brought together state chief ministers and central officials to align on policy priorities and strategies for inclusive development.

During the meeting, Sarma emphasized the importance of better coordination between states and advocated for maximizing India's demographic dividend by creating new opportunities for young people. He echoed the Prime Minister’s call to keep women central to governance and highlighted the potential benefits of recent international trade agreements.

Sarma underscored the country's economic strength, noting its status as one of the fastest growing nations that continues to attract global investment and talent. Reflecting on the national trajectory, he said, "Today, India stands at a pivotal moment in history." He added that the combined efforts of Team India remain focused on the long-term goal of building a Viksit Bharat.
