Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board recommended 5,836 candidates for state government jobs between 2019 and September 2026. Chief Minister Pema Khandu confirmed the tally on October 16, pointing to 38 separate examinations as the engine for these hires. The board aims to ensure every hire relies on merit alone. It handles Group C and D posts across various state departments.

Khandu pushed the board's reputation as a fair system. He noted the ISO certification as proof of that commitment. It now runs exams like the Common Graduate Level and the Combined Limited Departmental Competitive Examination. Other tests include the Non-Ministerial Technical, Common Higher Secondary, and Secondary Level exams. Khandu spoke about the weight of these roles during a video update on social media. "Government recruitment is not just about exams and vacancies. Behind every exam is the hard work of a youth. Behind every vacancy is the hope of a family," he said.

Trust has not always been high. A 2020 cash-for-job scandal nearly destroyed the board's standing. That February, police started a probe into exams for lower divisional clerk and junior secretariat assistant roles. The Special Investigation Cell eventually charged 19 people for the mess. The board formed under the 2018 Act to clean up state hiring. It now seeks to maintain that progress for the long haul.

Khandu tied the board's ongoing operations to a wider state agenda, marking the milestone with the slogan, One decade, one faith. He highlighted the need to sustain public confidence as the institution shifts from its initial focus on clean-up efforts toward serving as a primary pathway for public service careers.

The Chief Minister reinforced this push on social media with hashtags including 10YearsOfSeva and ViksitArunachal, signaling that the board remains a focal point for the current administration's long-term development strategy.
