Itanagar: Pakke Kessang district just set a new standard for the Arunachal Pradesh and Assam border. Officials erected the first official boundary pillar at Dikalmukh to help settle a dispute that has dragged on for decades. This installation serves as a physical step to end the confusion that defines the inter-state line. It brings order to a border known for years of friction.

Health and Family Welfare Minister and Seijosa MLA Biyuram Wahge stood by the marker during its installation. The act signals a commitment to finally lock down the state’s borders. For this work, the Pakke Kessang District Administration earned a nomination for the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s Award. Officials noted that the project is a move toward formally identifying the line. As one local official put it, the development marks a "step towards formally identifying and strengthening the demarcation of the inter-state boundary at the district level." Both state governments continue to work on clearing up the messy status of their shared territory.
