Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor K.T. Parnaik has urged the strengthening of the Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) network across the state. He emphasized that these facilities are vital for national security, disaster response, and improving connectivity in remote border regions.

The governor shared these views during a meeting in Shillong with Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Air Command. During the discussion, Parnaik highlighted the strategic significance of the state and noted that well-maintained landing strips are essential for border development.

Parnaik commended the Indian Air Force for its ongoing efforts to support local communities. He stated, "The governor, who was in Shillong to attend the plenary session of the North Eastern Council (NEC), held extensive discussions with Walia on matters related to border infrastructure, air connectivity and disaster management."

The governor specifically praised the military for conducting ration-dropping missions, transporting essential supplies, and evacuating patients during medical crises. Air Marshal Walia reaffirmed the Eastern Air Command's commitment to humanitarian aid, emergency operations, and the ongoing enhancement of regional connectivity.
