Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister Ojing Tasing is pushing for a shift in how the government handles rural reforms. He wants a flexible, collaborative framework that accounts for the specific hurdles in remote states. One size does not fit all. Tasing argued that local needs must dictate policy to drive real, sustainable change.
Tasing spoke on July 3 at a national workshop for state Panchayati Raj ministers. Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh led the meeting in the presence of counterparts from across the country. Tasing made his stance clear regarding the implementation of new standards: "flexibility in the implementation framework is crucial for ensuring that governance reforms effectively respond to local needs, particularly in geographically diverse and remote areas like Arunachal Pradesh."
Cooperation between state and federal leaders remains the priority. Tasing believes that better teamwork will sharpen service delivery and boost the efficiency of Panchayati Raj Institutions. Development initiatives will only work if they adapt to local realities.
