Guwahati: A civil society group wants answers. The Human Rights of Arunachal is pressing the Indian Army and the Nah Welfare Society for the truth about alleged Chinese troop movements in the Taksing sector. The two sides cannot agree on the facts. This is causing serious confusion for locals.
The Indian Army denies any new Chinese presence or territorial violations in the Upper Subansiri district. The Nah Welfare Society claims otherwise. They say the People’s Liberation Army has built roads, bridges, and temporary camps on land they identify as Indian territory. The society recently gave a memorandum to the local Deputy Commissioner to demand action.
HRA leaders Dr. Kipa Kaha and Jesy Debia issued a statement on Thursday calling for transparency. They argued that the government needs to verify these claims and show the public the truth. "The organisation said greater transparency would help curb misinformation and maintain public confidence while safeguarding national security interests."
National security is on the line. The HRA wants both the state and central governments to investigate the border claims immediately. They believe verifying the facts is the only way to protect the country's sovereignty and calm public fear.
