Itanagar: The Arunachal Adivasi Congress is pushing the federal government to form a parliamentary committee to inspect the border with China. The group says locals from Anjaw to Tawang have spotted Chinese construction and troop movements for years. They claim these warnings go ignored by officials in New Delhi.

Tami Pangu, chairman of the group, accused the BJP-led government of prioritizing politics over security. He hammered Union Minister Kiren Rijiju for downplaying reports of intruders while attacking opposition leaders. Pangu challenged the minister directly: "Whom do you represent in the Government of India as a Member of Parliament? What is your duty when border issues arise in Arunachal Pradesh? Why deny public concerns without checking the ground realities? Has your role reduced only to counter Rahul Gandhi?"

The group also slammed Chief Minister Pema Khandu for his silence on the matter. They want a formal report on infrastructure, security, and civilian settlements in the frontier regions. The Congress wing reminded the public that fellow BJP member Tapir Gao previously highlighted Chinese PLA camps in Upper Subansiri back in 2019. They argue that Beijing’s ongoing habit of renaming local villages is a direct threat to Indian sovereignty. Pangu now demands that Rijiju apologize to the state and step down.
