AHAM Demands Immediate Action on Unfinished Schools and Teacher Vacancies in East Garo Hills

Shillong: The A·chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) Dobu Regional Unit sent a formal request to the East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner. They want the government to finish the Dobu Chitimbing school building. Construction on the site has stalled for two years. Students now suffer due to a lack of adequate space.

AHAM demands a formal inquiry into the delay. They insist the district administration push to complete the project immediately. The group also reported a critical staff shortage at the Dobu Rimding Lower Primary School. One teacher left the job in April. The position remains vacant. No substitute has been hired to replace the missing educator. Children are falling behind.

With final examinations approaching, students face significant difficulties. The regional unit emphasized the urgency of the staffing issue. "Uni gimin Do·bu Chitimbing skul nokko ta·rake matchotate on·china aro Do·bu Rimding LP skulna da·o bon·kamgipa porikkana skangan skigipako rakkidapchina chinga District Administration-ko mol·molenga," the group stated. Copies of the petition reached the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer and the respective school managing committees.
