Zunheboto Power Outage Expected to End Thursday

Kohima: Project Colony residents spent two days in the dark. The power cut started the evening of July 14. A major transformer near the PWD Office failed under the strain. Overloading caused the break. Heavy power use from ongoing construction projects triggered the system collapse.

Junior Engineer Pushito of the Zunheboto Power Department confirmed the unit covers a wide area. It feeds government offices, local businesses, and houses. The department expects a replacement transformer from Dimapur by Thursday. Crews will start the swap as soon as it arrives. Power should return by the evening of July 16 if testing goes well. The JE asked for patience while teams fix the line. "The department is making every effort to restore power at the earliest," Pushito said.
