Zunheboto Officials Told to Stay at Posting Sites

Kohima: Zunheboto district officials must stay at their posts. Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj issued the order during a District Planning and Development Board meeting on October 6 at the DC Conference Hall. He expects department heads to handle their duties around the clock. The board chairman insisted that staff remain stationed at their desks, stating that attendance is required, "irrespective of whether a DPDB meeting is scheduled."

School space remains a priority. The board handed the local Town Hall over to the Zunheboto Government Higher Secondary School. Officials also reviewed a critical shortage of graduate teachers at the institution. Representatives from the District Employment Office and Government ITI, including instructor Er. Bendangwati, pitched new job training and skill development programs to address local needs.

A memorial library may soon honor the late L. Sailo. EAC Satakha Imtinungla Longkumer outlined the life of the former official, who was born on October 15, 1932. The son of a Lailak village chief in Mizoram, Sailo served as the EAC of Satakha during the 1970s. He died alongside Deputy Commissioner K.K. Gupta on February 14, 1974. An underground ambush killed both men near Shoipu village while they performed official duties.
