Zoramthanga Rallies MNF for Return to Power

Aizawl: Mizo National Front president Zoramthanga told party workers in Aizawl on Monday that the group is gearing up for a comeback. He wants the base ready for the next state assembly vote in 2028. The former Chief Minister urged members to stay tight and keep their faith.

The MNF currently holds 10 of the 40 seats in the assembly. Zoramthanga says the work to reclaim the government has already started. He recently traveled to New Delhi to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other central leaders. The MNF remains a member of the BJP-led North-East Democratic Alliance.

He credited his party with securing long-term peace in Mizoram after years of fighting. He views that stability as a divine gift. The leader believes his party thrives because of its roots in faith rather than personal status. He told the crowd, "The MNF is preparing itself to form the government again. Necessary steps are being taken in that direction, and I urge party members to remain united, committed, and firm in their faith."

Zoramthanga brushed off past political losses. He expects the party to bounce back before the next poll. The focus now shifts to rebuilding the organization across the state.
