Aizawl: Zoramthanga wants the Mizo National Front back on top. The former Chief Minister told supporters in Aizawl that his party is already prepping for the 2028 Assembly elections. They lost control of the state to the Zoram People's Movement back in 2023.
The MNF leader remains focused on the future. He urged his party members to stay disciplined and work together to rebuild their base. "The MNF is preparing itself to form the government again. Necessary steps are being taken in that direction, and I urge party members to remain united, committed, and firm in their faith," Zoramthanga said.
Current numbers show the party holds 10 of the 40 seats in the assembly. They remain part of the BJP-led North-East Democratic Alliance. Zoramthanga recently traveled to New Delhi to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other top leaders. He stayed quiet on the details of those talks.
Zoramthanga also pushed for the state to protect its hard-earned peace. He credited the MNF for the historic accord that stopped decades of insurgency. He insists the party will lean on its faith to bounce back from recent setbacks.
