Zoram People’s Movement Rejects Claims of Party Rift

Aizawl: Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) officials are pushing back against reports of a fractured government. Senior leader TBC Lalvenchhunga dismissed claims of internal fighting during an Aizawl press event Monday. He insists the party remains solid.

Political whispers suggested a growing divide between Chief Minister Lalduhoma and Home Minister K. Sapdanga. This talk intensified after a recent cabinet shake-up moved the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department from Sapdanga to the Chief Minister. Opposition leader Lalchhandama Ralte previously flagged these internal tensions as a threat to party stability.

Lalvenchhunga labeled the rumors as baseless fabrications. He admitted that internal discussions from the Political Affairs Committee were leaked to the public, but he claimed bad actors distorted the information to hurt the party. “Differences in opinion do exist, which is normal in any democratic setup. However, claims that the ZPM is facing an internal rift are completely unfounded.”

Lalvenchhunga urged party members to prioritize Mizoram over personal ambition. He maintained that the administration continues to outperform previous governments despite any minor disagreements. The ZPM intends to move forward with reforms, ignoring external noise.
