Zeliangrong Students' Union Demands Investigation Into Vehicle Shooting

Kohima: The Zeliangrong Students' Union Nagaland has condemned an alleged attack on community members traveling from Dimapur to Jalukie on June 5. The incident occurred during the early hours of the morning when the commuters noticed they were being trailed by a maroon Alto car near the DIET Training Centre in the Chümoukedima district.

The union reported that the trailing vehicle, which was occupied by an individual wearing combat fatigues, pursued the commuters aggressively for several miles. The situation escalated between 1:50 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. near Pimla when the attackers allegedly opened fire on the vehicle. The bullet struck the car, causing significant damage and placing the lives of the passengers at risk.

Following the attack, the union issued a formal statement calling for a swift response from local authorities. They urged law enforcement to identify and arrest the perpetrators, stating: "Condemning the incident in the strongest terms, ZSUN urged the concerned law enforcement agencies to take immediate cognizance of the matter and expedite the identification and apprehension of those responsible in an impartial manner."
