Guwahati: Forest officials caught two alleged poachers in Assam's Raimona National Park this week. The arrests followed a three-week intelligence operation in the park's Central Range. Authorities identified the suspects as 35-year-old Sukur Mushahary and Parbeswar Narzary. Both men hail from Thakampur village.

The Forest Department launched the probe after receiving reports of unidentified people moving through the Right No. 6/7 sector. Officials worked alongside the Sashastra Seema Bal to monitor the area. They finally cornered the pair during a joint raid. Officials stated the "investigation is continuing to identify and apprehend other members of the suspected poaching network."

The duo allegedly targeted endangered wildlife species. Park staff are now working to track down the remaining members of the group. This bust marks a win for conservation efforts in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
