Kohima: Authorities in Tuli shut down a key stretch of road today. The Additional Deputy Commissioner office banned all heavy vehicles from the Watiyongpang–Changtongya route effective immediately. This order stays in place until further notice.
Flooding and landslides hammered the area on July 19. The destruction left the path unsafe for heavy transit. Experts from the Public Works Department for National Highway-2 and the Tuli Division of Roads and Bridges assessed the wreckage. They recommended the shutdown to prevent further collapses. The administration confirmed, "The measure has been taken to ensure public safety until the damaged road is restored."
