Agartala: Tripura Police picked up four suspected Bangladeshi nationals in the Khowai district on July 10. Officers swarmed the Radhanagar motor stand after a tip-off about suspicious movement in the area. They made the move around 1:30 pm.

The men spilled their origins during the first round of questioning. Police believe they hail from Chapanagar in Bangladesh. "During preliminary questioning, the detainees reportedly admitted that they were Bangladeshi nationals."

Authorities are still verifying the identities of the detainees. They need to figure out exactly how the group got across the border. Investigators have opened a formal case to track their movements. Tripura Police continue to tighten the screws along the border. They have been running intense surveillance operations to catch people slipping into the state illegally.
