Agartala: NITI Aayog handed Tripura a 1 crore incentive. The reward follows the state’s timely launch of the Tripura Institution for Transformation, or TIFT. The office opened its doors in December 2023. It now serves as the government’s primary hub for data analytics and strategic planning.

Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha oversees the agency. He tasked the team with pushing policy advocacy and multidisciplinary research to hit development targets. Officials believe the cash injection will boost the state's capacity for complex, data-driven governance.

The agency’s work gained national attention. NITI Aayog tapped Tripura to host the Regional Dialogue for Eastern and Northeastern states earlier this month in Agartala. The gathering focused on sharing effective governance tactics across state borders.

The state is shifting toward performance-based systems. "This recognition reflects Tripura‘s strong commitment to institutional strengthening and evidence-based governance," officials noted. This victory marks Tripura as a rising force for policy innovation in the Northeast.
