Agartala: Tripura has become the first state in India to integrate the Track Me feature into the 112 India mobile application. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced the rollout, explaining that the tool is designed to assist women, the elderly, and individuals traveling alone during odd hours. By sharing their real-time location, users allow the Emergency Response Support System control room to monitor their movements. If a user feels threatened, they can trigger an emergency button to ensure that response vehicles are dispatched to their location immediately.
The announcement occurred during a passing-out parade for new police recruits at the KTDS Police Training Academy. The Chief Minister noted that the feature has already undergone successful testing by the state police. During the same event, Dr. Saha confirmed that the government would soon issue appointment letters to 218 new sub-inspectors and continues to move forward with the recruitment of 916 additional constables.
Highlighting the growth of the state security apparatus, officials noted that the latest graduating batches featured more women than men. Recruits underwent comprehensive instruction covering law, disaster management, jungle warfare, and field craft. The Chief Minister emphasized that these advancements reflect a broader commitment to security and women's empowerment across the region.
