Agartala: The Tripura Human Rights Commission has formally requested a comprehensive report from the Director General of Tripura Police regarding grave allegations of sexual misconduct involving a high ranking Superintendent of Police. The case centers on a 2010 batch Tripura Police Service officer who allegedly attempted to engage in an inappropriate relationship with a female colleague while on leave.

According to reports brought to the attention of the Commission, the accused officer reportedly entered the residential quarters of a fellow woman police officer while her husband was away. The officer is accused of physically touching the victim and outraging her modesty. The situation escalated when the woman officer raised an alarm, prompting local residents to intervene, at which point the accused allegedly fled the scene.

The Commission has emphasized that such allegations against law enforcement personnel are deeply concerning and risk undermining public trust in the state police force. To address the situation, the DGP has been directed to submit a detailed investigation report, supported by relevant media documentation, for further examination. The Commission has scheduled a follow up hearing for June 11, 2026, to review the findings of this inquiry.
