Agartala: Tripura’s economy is surging. The state Gross State Domestic Product hit an estimated Rs 89,682 crore for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Two years ago, that figure sat at Rs 70,633 crore. Residents are feeling the lift as well.
Per capita income jumped from Rs 1.54 lakh in 2022-23 to Rs 1.93 lakh today. Officials shared the data on Monday during the 20th Statistics Day event at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala. The gathering honored statistician Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis.
Director of Census Operations Ratan Biswas shifted focus toward the future. He noted that house-listing for the 2027 Census starts this August. "He stressed the crucial role of census data in helping governments formulate evidence-based policies and development programmes," officials stated.
The Directorate of Economics and Statistics also previewed the 81st round of the National Sample Survey. They rolled out a new web portal for monitoring Sustainable Development Goals alongside a fresh publication, Tripura At-a-Glance 2025-26. Over 250 people attended the presentation to track the state's latest financial gains.
