Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has identified significant challenges in the state's security landscape, noting that Tripura currently ranks third last among Indian states for law and order. During a passing-out parade at the Police Training Academy in Narsingarh on May 21, the Chief Minister emphasized that strengthening the police force through recruitment and better training is vital for public safety.

More than 900 new constables recently completed an 11-month training program, which included rigorous physical drills and professional field exercises. Saha highlighted that a majority of these new recruits are women, calling their increased involvement a major asset for the state's security infrastructure. This latest intake is part of a broader government initiative to fill gaps in policing capacity while creating new job opportunities for the youth.

The graduation ceremony follows a period of reflection for the Chief Minister, who recently marked his fourth year in office. While Saha has touted progress across various sectors under his administration, he maintained that officials must continue to prioritize modernizing policing standards to ensure the state reaches its safety goals. The recruitment drive is intended to serve as a cornerstone for these ongoing efforts to stabilize and improve the region's overall security environment.
