Guwahati: The Trinamool Congress picked Abdul Salam to run for the Nagaon Assembly seat in Assam. The party confirmed the selection as electoral pressure builds in the region. Assam Pradesh TMC president Sherman Ali Ahmed made the official announcement regarding the candidate.
Salam enters a crowded field. The upcoming by-election promises a multi-cornered contest for local voters. Political parties are currently scrambling to prepare their candidates and organize campaigns for the fast-approaching race. The party stated, "Abdul Salam will represent the TMC in the Nagaon bypoll."
