Imphal: Nearly 10,000 people gathered in Jalukie, Nagaland, on Friday for a massive solidarity protest titled Bring Them Home. The demonstration was organized by the Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland to demand the immediate release of six Naga men abducted by Kuki militants on May 13.

The six hostages were part of a group of 18 civilians taken from Leilon village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district. While 12 individuals, including women and a child, were released on May 15, the remaining six men remain missing after 17 days. Among those still in captivity are two pastors identified as Rev. Manu and Pastor Phenrongwibou. The other missing men are Kenpibo, Phenrilungbou, Dilip, and Kaliwangbou.

Protesters and civil society leaders expressed deep concern over the lack of government progress in securing their release. The Zeliangrong Baudi and several other regional organizations submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Nagaland calling for immediate state intervention to resolve the crisis and restore peace to the region.

The memorandum accused the National Kuki Front of being responsible for the abduction and described the ongoing situation as a severe violation of human rights. Organizers warned that the instability in Manipur continues to threaten the safety and tranquility of the entire region.
