Students rally in Shillong for education reform and minister's resignation

Shillong: Students and supporters crowded Don Bosco Square in Laitumkhrah on July 20. They marched to back climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and demand a total overhaul of the nation's failing education system. The crowd held high placards and shouted for immediate, structural change.

The demonstrators want an end to exam paper leaks and better transparency. They demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The group sang "They Don't Really Care About Us" while voicing their frustrations to the government. They urged officials to address these grievances with urgency.

Police kept watch over the area. Security remained tight while the demonstration stayed peaceful throughout the day. This event marks another step in the national movement inspired by Wangchuk's ongoing activism.
