Shillong: The Meghalaya state government is dropping 10.5 crore rupees into a new pedestrian project in Shillong. The Directorate of Urban Affairs wants to build steps and install an elevator to link the NPP office to the main motorable road at Polo. It is a big job. The total cost hits exactly 10,54,77,894 rupees.
Officials are pushing the work forward under EPC Mode-II. Registered Class-I contractors under the Directorate of Urban Affairs have been invited to submit bids for the construction. The clock starts ticking as soon as they pick a winner. The contractor must finish the build within 12 months of getting the final work order.
