Kohima: St. Joseph University held its 2026 Students Induction Programme on July 8 and 9. The event formally welcomed the latest batch of undergraduates to the Dimapur campus. Rev. Sr. Dr. Thianes Mary DMI opened the proceedings with an invocation.
Registrar Dr. A. Robert Xavier addressed the crowd. He laid out the Four Year Undergraduate Programme requirements per UGC guidelines. He urged the students to prioritize internships and vocational training. The message hit home. Education must lead to real-world skills.
Alumna Sentinaro Pongen spoke about her career path at Vestige Marketing Pvt. Ltd. The keynote came from state commissioner Tongpang L Jamir. He pushed for a culture of innovation. "Urged students to embrace technology, pursue innovation and entrepreneurship, and contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat," Jamir told the attendees.
Vice Chancellor Dr. D. Gnanadurai delivered the presidential address. Students from the economics and JMC departments provided music and presentations. Dr. Debojit Konwar closed the sessions with a formal vote of thanks.
