Shillong: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra in South Garo Hills held a health camp Wednesday at the Farmers’ Training Centre in Warima. The facility operates under the ICAR-ATARI Zone-VII in Umiam. It partnered with the Chokpot Community Health Centre for the event. The camp fell under the Swachhta Hi Seva 2026 Campaign. Local turnout hit 146 people.
Staff provided free medical check-ups and medicine to attendees. Dr. Athokpam Haribhushan, the Head and Principal Scientist of the South Garo Hills KVK, urged locals to prioritize their health. He told the crowd: "an·tangtangko an·seng baljoke rakkina be·enni gita porikka ra·e nijringna nangani gimin aganangaha."
Dr. Akash Ch Momin, the In-charge of Chokpot CHC, briefed attendees on various diseases. Other officials in attendance included Community Health Officer Meenakshi Hajong and Block Program Manager Anthony Ch Sangma.
