Guwahati: Sivasagar police arrested Raju Ali on September 9. The late-night operation unfolded near the Dikhau embankment, close to the cremation ground and the local Sadar Police Station. Officers moved in after tracking the suspect, who they claim has run drug and criminal rackets for over ten years.
The team included Officer-in-Charge Babul Kumar Medhi, Sub-Inspector Debashish Sharma, and Outpost Officer Nipon Gogoi. They acted under orders from the Chief Minister to hit the drug trade hard. Police have already detained about ten other suspects since Wednesday afternoon. They are currently grilling those individuals for information.
Officers seized 69 grams of narcotics, 14,500 rupees in cash, and a soap box from Ali. They also took his numberless R1 motorcycle. A bag strapped to the bike held a pair of scissors and various narcotic medicines. Police labeled the recovered items as, "objectionable." Investigations remain active as the crackdown continues across the district.
