Gangtok: The Government of Sikkim has officially lifted odd-even vehicle movement restrictions across all districts, excluding Gangtok. This policy shift follows a comprehensive review of the state fuel stock situation, which confirmed that petrol and diesel supplies are now sufficient to meet public demand.

The Home Department issued the notification on Sunday, May 31, confirming the rollback after the Food and Civil Supplies Department verified that buffer stocks had been successfully built up. While these regulations are no longer in effect elsewhere, the government maintained that within Gangtok town, the odd-even traffic control remains active under previous directives.

Official cars are also still subject to the limitations established in the May 14 notification. State authorities stated that the decision follows a period of careful monitoring, noting that the move was made after verifying that there are now enough fuel reserves to meet Sikkim's regular needs while guaranteeing ongoing supply and consumption pattern monitoring.
