Itanagar: The Siang district administration in Arunachal Pradesh held a Jan Kalyan Shivir on Friday at the Unying-Aran Hall in Boleng. This event was part of a nationwide initiative commemorating 12 years of public welfare, development, and trust. State Minister Ojing Tasing, who oversees Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Transport, and Cooperation, attended the event to engage with community leaders, beneficiaries, and local government officials.
Sixteen government departments and agencies gathered at the venue to offer on-the-spot registrations and public awareness activities. The health department provided screenings for diabetes, hypertension, and various cancers while managing PMJAY registrations. Other services included eye exams, agricultural support for schemes like PM Kisan, and financial guidance from banks regarding social security programs.
The Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission utilized the event to promote self-help group initiatives and register potential Lakhpati Didis. Meanwhile, the Jan Suvidha Kendra processed essential documents such as birth and death certificates, and the police department hosted discussions on preventing drug abuse. Officials noted that the program is central to their strategy for improving public administration, stating that the event reflected efforts to improve last-mile delivery of government services and strengthen citizen outreach.
