Agartala: The Tripura government has appointed senior IAS officer Shantanu as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. The appointment follows his repatriation from central deputation and his posting as Principal Secretary to the Government of Tripura in the Higher Administrative Grade.
As part of this administrative reshuffle, Shantanu will hold additional responsibility for the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. The General Administration Department stated that the order was issued "in the interest of public service" and took immediate effect upon its release.
The transition involves shifting responsibilities from two existing officials. Raval Hemendra Kumar, who previously held the additional charge of TTAADC CEO, will step down from the role once Shantanu officially assumes office. Additionally, K. Sasikumar has been relieved of his duties overseeing the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
Officials indicated that these changes are designed to improve administrative efficiency. By placing an experienced 1997-batch officer in these key positions, the government aims to strengthen governance across tribal administration and public distribution services.
