Guwahati: Security forces intercepted Shyamal Danah, an alleged overground worker for the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent. He was caught while traveling toward the Mon district in Nagaland. The suspect, a resident of Thulai Chuk in the Mahmora area of Assam’s Charaideo district, intended to join the militant group permanently.
Intelligence agents tracked his movements. A joint task force consisting of Charaideo Police, led by the DySP of Headquarters and the DySP of Special operations, teamed up with the 20 Assam Rifles E-Coy to execute the arrest. Officials stated, "necessary legal action would be initiated against him in accordance with the law."
Officers brought Danah back to Charaideo following his capture. He remains in custody while police conduct a formal investigation. He is the son of Prahlad Danah.
